How many of us have bought that one skein of gorgeous hand-dyed yarn because we simply had to have it, with no idea what we were going to do with it? You over there in the corner, don’t hide. I know exactly how you feel. And that, my wonderful friends, is how Café K came to be.
One blustery Sunday morning in mid-September, two of my beautiful friends came to my sleepy little village for breakfast. We sat in Café K for hours, eating, drinking coffee and crocheting. I had a couple of large projects on the go but wanted something small and simple, so I wound up one skein of glorious hand-dyed yarn from the Australian Wool Store and off I went with my hook and a few ideas in my head. By the time my friends arrived, Café K had started to take shape. In case you didn’t notice, she’s named after the café where she was born.
A one-skein shawl for in-between seasons
A gorgeous, almost crescent-shaped scarf with a cute little peaked fan edge. The increases run along the straight side, giving a long, sweeping shape that isn’t too wide, which makes her perfect for those mid-season days when you want something around your neck but not a full wrap.
