When presented with a gorgeous new colourway what should I do, well start
playing that’s what. This wonderful new colour was born earlier this year and I
must say she it is beautiful.
The yarn, a breathtaking blend of stunning violet melting into soft sky blue,
flowed through my fingers with a touch like a whispered promise. Each stitch
was a breath, each row a gentle unfolding. The yarn became the Whispering
Petal shawl, a piece inspired by the fleeting beauty of a twilight bloom.
As with all assigned pooling yarn the colour and assigned stitches are totally
random, like the delicate veins on a flower petal. As the shawl grew, a
mesmerizing pattern of sweet little flowers emerged. The sky blues clustered
together, reminiscent of the heart of the bloom, while the violet drifted
outwards, soft and ethereal, like petals unfurling in the evening breeze.
I imagined the woman who would wear this shawl, I pictured her wrapped in
its gentle warmth, the colours echoing the quiet beauty of a twilight garden.
The very act of crocheting felt like an incantation, each loop weaving in a
touch of magic, a whisper of the yarn’s rich hues. Soon, the final stitch would
be complete, and the Whispering Petal would be ready to embrace its wearer,
a tangible embodiment of fleeting beauty and quiet grace.

As with all assigned pooling yarn, the colour and the assigned stitches land at random, like the delicate veins on a flower petal. As the shawl grew, a mesmerising pattern of sweet little flowers emerged: the sky blues clustered like the heart of the bloom, while the violet drifted outwards, soft and ethereal, like petals unfurling in the evening breeze.

- Linked double crochet body – smooth, drapey and quick, with an easy six-row shaping repeat.
